SINGAPORE, Early June 2017 SPA by JW opens, offering a new wellness hub at the heart of buzzing Singapore for hotel guests and local Singaporeans alike. It is the newest addition to JW Marriott Singapore South Beach, which marked the luxury hotel brand’s debut in Singapore, with its celebrated grand opening in March.
“The opening of the first JW Marriott hotel in Singapore marks a great milestone for Marriott International. JW Marriott is a distinctive luxury brand globally recognized for its craftsmanship, warm personalized service and alluring, modern design,” said Mr. Craig S. Smith, President and Managing Director, Marriott International at the hotel’s grand opening. “JW Marriott is globally renowned for its intuitive service and commitment to providing guests with truly enriching luxurious experiences”.
SPA by JW offers guests an intuitive experience that is luxurious yet purposeful, with 8 treatment rooms and two express treatment pods offering effective and efficient treatments in as little as 12-minutes. The latest technology is used to awaken the senses: chromatherapy (light and colour), aromatherapy (scent) and audio-visual therapies (sound) work in tandem with the therapists’ treatments to deliver maximum results. In the Relaxation Lounge, guests can also find the ‘zero-gravity’ inversion therapy chair designed to provide a soothing back massage while relieving spinal tension. Meanwhile extensive spa treatments, such as the 50-minute Signature Massage using Aromatherapy Associates products, are meant for a pampering retreat.
“The opening of SPA by JW completes the enriching experience we want our hotel guests to have when they stay with us,” said Mr. Derek Flint, General Manager of JW Marriott Singapore South Beach. “The hotel is most stylish and sought-after property in Singapore, especially now with the addition of the state-of-the-art spa providing innovative treatments to busy travelers and local Singaporeans seeking a break from the bustling city.”
The hotel spa is just one more exciting opening at the luxury hotel. Opening recently to much fanfare, the JW Marriott Singapore South Beach is a design-led, 634-room luxury hotel located in close proximity to the Marina Bay entertainment and business districts and is poised to become an iconic lifestyle destination in the heart of Singapore’s arts and culture district.
The hotel consists of both heritage and newly constructed buildings with sleek designer interiors and architecture by award-winning British architects Foster+Partners. Complemented by a multi-million-dollar collection of more than 30 works and installations by regionally and internationally acclaimed artists, guests can expect enriching and multi-sensory cultural experiences throughout the hotel.
Boasting the state-of-the-art ballroom in the city, the hotel is the destination of choice for weddings, corporate events and social gatherings. The property has 1,771 square meters of indoor and outdoor events and meetings space, including a 520 square meter Grand Ballroom housed in a 1930s historic Drill Hall and features a dramatic 11,520-light Forest of Lights installation. As part of the hotel’s commitment to the latest technology, the hotel is home to Singapore’s largest in-built LED wall measuring 10 metres x 15 metres. The hotel’s 15 meeting rooms are housed in Assembly, one of the property’s restored historic buildings. Two additional events and meetings spaces are available in the NCO building and Ebb6. JW Marriott Singapore South Beach also boasts two outdoor infinity pools, two open-air sky gardens and a 24-hour fitness center at Flow18.
Set to become one of Singapore’s most coveted culinary destinations, JW Marriott Singapore South Beach will feature a total of nine dining options. Akira Back, opened by celebrity chef Akira Back, offers modern Japanese cuisine with Korean accents and culinary influences from around the world. Beach Road Kitchen, an all-day-dining restaurant, features global cuisine and to-go items; Court Martial Bar and Media Bar offer cocktails in a refined cocktail bar and gastropub setting; and Tonic serves gin-based cocktails in an intimate setting. The remaining four dining outlets will be situated within the historic NCO Club ? a readapted heritage building formerly the recreational club for the British military ? is a highly anticipated and slated to be unveiled early next year.
